when Allāh isolates you to reclaim you

somewhere along the way, you forgot you were His. not just in worship or identity – but in belonging. in ownership. in being. you drifted into attachments that branded you, people who renamed you, lives that swallowed you whole. and slowly, piece by piece, you handed yourself over. not in sin, necessarily – sometimes in love. in duty. in dreams. in things that felt noble but diluted the core of who you were.

and still, He waited.

He let you taste the sweetness of connection, the high of being needed, the thrill of being chosen – until it became your compass. until it rewrote your sense of self. and then, when the time came, He intervened. not because you were lost. but because you were no longer His and He wanted you back.

so He isolated you.

not gently or slowly... sometimes all at once. sometimes like the floor vanishing mid-step. sometimes like your own name turning foreign in your mouth. the people who once saw you don’t look twice now. the roles that once defined you crumble. the paths you prayed for feel barricaded. and you’re left in a kind of exile – not from the world, but from who you were when everyone else had access to you.

this is what divine claiming feels like: being stripped of what diluted you, what demanded you split your soul into palatable pieces. it feels brutal because you spent years curating a version of yourself that could survive them. but Allāh isn’t interested in the survival version. He’s interested in you, your fitrah – the soul He created before the world told you who to be.

so He brings you into isolation. not to punish or to crush. but to claim.

and it’s here, in the silence, that your limbs remember Him. your voice – hoarse from years of overexplaining – finally rests in dhikr. your hands, once stretched out to be held by others, now rise in duʿāʾ. your head which you held high and proud, now humbly bows down in sujud. not out of habit – but hunger. not out of fear – but yearning. because what you lost outside of Him was never yours to begin with.

and what’s born inside this isolation… is.

ownership changes everything. when you belong to people, you move according to their approval. when you belong to outcomes, you contort to stay aligned with timelines. when you belong to your own image, you avoid anything that cracks the mirror. but when you belong to Allāh – truly belong – you stop chasing. you stop performing. you stop proving.

you just be.

and you obey. not out of fear of rejection, but out of love. out of relief. out of return. this is what it means to be claimed – not branded, not broken, not displayed – but kept. you are kept. in His ʿināyah. in His sight. in His plan. and the ache that once hollowed you now roots you. the grief that once defined you now refines you. the longing that once tethered you to people now binds you to Rabb al-ʿĀlamīn.

because once He claims you, nothing else can hold you the same way again.
